It’s a tractor trailer extended cab attached to a small cargo compartment without articulation.

Tramper couriers?

I think it’s just a straight truck with a sleeper. Odd configuration, I guess for expensive long distance deliveries that don’t need much space.

Since it has a marker for dangerous materials attached to the bumper, I’d guess the “critical” part of the brand is for dangerous materials.

F-950?
Though in a seriousness, I have seen these used for mining explosive transport in Oz where there is a necessity for multiple drivers (due to restricted drive time lengths for drivers compared to normal long haul truck drivers ) and an escort for such loads. They are a custom cab on a conventional Freightliner chassis.

Normally these have two one third sized trailers towed behind them. From a logistics standpoints it allows truckers to redirect a shipment in transit by dropping one or both for the other truck(s).

It’s more for anything that needs special handling and fast delivery, as I understand, not just hazmat.

We ship stuff custom critical all the time, and these trucks pick it up. They’re definitely for long haul, fast ship. We have two “regulars” I guess you’d call them, husband and wife teams. These trucks are suhweet!

That’s a FedEx Custom Critical truck, which could more accurately be described as an RRFE truck. (Really Really F-ing Expensive).
It’s for when you need to get stuff from one place to another as fast as possible and don’t care how much it costs.
That’s a sleeper section in the middle - basically like an RV inside
. There will be two drivers for the truck
. The first will drive up to 10 hrs, then go sleep in the back, while the 2nd driver can then drive for up to 10 hrs.

Huh. I’ve never actually seen a box truck with a sleeper cab. I can’t imagine there’s much of a market for them, seeing as box trucks are generally short haul or in-town delivery.

Looks like a standard tractor that has a box attached instead of fifth wheel.

Most larger trucks are like this. Dump truck, concrete mixer, box truck, etc. Just a highway tractor chassis that’s extra long to accommodate it. Like this wonderful Western Star highway plow truck, currently with a drinking water supply tank dropped into the dump bed.
I'll agree that it's a but odd seeing a sleeper cab and such a small van body on it, but there ya go.

I used to drive a regular straight truck with a sleeper. Those bad boys are for drivers who live on the road and team drive. Better accommodation than the regular ones I drove.
